Job Summary
We are looking for a Classified Systems Administrator with an active Secret clearance and eligibility for a Top Secret clearance upon hire. The ideal candidate will manage classified information systems, ensuring security and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining Windows servers and desktops, managing Linux operating systems through WSL, and staying updated on emerging technologies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and manage Windows servers, desktops, and network devices.
- Set up and manage Linux operating systems using Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to address evolving system requirements.
- Collaborate on system design, hardware/software implementation, and infrastructure support.
- Document system configurations, baselines, and changes effectively.
- Work with the ISSO on technical inquiries regarding the information system in line with NIST 800-53.
- Provide backup, recovery services, manage file systems, and disk space efficiently.
- Utilize virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, and ESXI.
- Prioritize and handle ticket loads for on-site support and troubleshooting tasks.
- Manage user accounts and access controls in domain and standalone environments.
- Ensure proper marking, handling, and storage of classified materials.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows operating system issues on servers and workstations.
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of four years of System Administration experience; or ten years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- DoD Directive 8570 / 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements for Windows and Linux systems.
- Understanding of SCAP and ACAS tools.
- Experience transferring patches and updates from Unclassified to Classified environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with security agencies, customers, and management.
- Experience managing multiple networks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a classified Collateral environment, SAP, or SCI.
- Prior System Administrator experience in a similarly sized organization.
- Knowledge of network concepts, including Type 1 encryption devices (e.g., TACLANE), cybersecurity tools, and best practices for configuring network equipment securely (switches, firewalls).
How You Will Be Rewarded
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 annually.
