SP Richards is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth within the independent dealer channel, focusing on SLED (State, Local, and Education), Healthcare, and Enterprise verticals. This consultative role is designed to identify, develop, and execute new business opportunities that leverage SP Richards' robust supply chain capabilities and deep vertical market expertise. The goal: empower independent dealers to win in competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute strategic business plans to grow sales within targeted vertical markets and office products buying groups.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to independent dealers, helping them navigate and penetrate SLED, Healthcare, and Enterprise segments.
• Identify new business opportunities and partnerships that align with SP Richards' strengths and dealer capabilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (sales, marketing, supply chain) to deliver tailored solutions for vertical market needs.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy and drive innovation.
• Represent SP Richards at industry events, trade shows, and dealer group meetings to build relationships and promote offerings.
• Track and report on key performance indicators, pipeline development, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management, preferably in B2B distribution or office products.
• Strong understanding of vertical markets, especially SLED, Healthcare, and Enterprise.
• Proven ability to build consultative relationships and influence decision-makers.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Self-starter with a strategic mindset and strong analytical capabilities.
• Experience working with independent dealer networks or buying groups is a plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Understanding of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to organize and prioritize.
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of PC, including Excel and Word software and e-mail. Knowledge of Access is helpful.
