Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Wheaton College Department of Creative Arts, which houses the Visual Art Program, seeks a qualified individual to teach one section one sections of Drawing I scheduled in the Spring '26 semester:
ART 116: Drawing I
Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:20 pm
Spring 2026
This course introduces drawing as a practice of observation, analysis, and expression. We explore the fundamentals of line, shape, value, proportion and perspective through a variety of drawing techniques. Working primarily from direct perception, we will explore objects, landscape, and the human figure. We emphasize the breadth of the drawing experience and its application across disciplines. Drawing I develops technical proficiency as a path to conceptual development, and prepares students for further study in visual art.

MA or MFA in Visual/ Fine Art

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.
The per course salary for this position is $5,000.
