We're looking for an Account Manager to join our team remotely in the US. The position is full-time. You'll join an awesome team to support our growing customer base.
About the Role
The Account Manager is a key contributor on a high-performing team focused on driving customer retention, growth, and satisfaction. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of direct customers, ensuring strong renewal rates, SaaS conversions, and AI adoption, while uncovering opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell. You will play a critical part in achieving software and services booking targets and building lasting client relationships that deliver measurable business value.
You will also:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers and decision-makers to promote loyalty and retention
- Identify opportunities and close deals for additional products, upgrades, and services within existing accounts
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer business goals, projects, and challenges
- Move our customers to our SaaS model with AI
- Expand account penetration by selling new products, additional locations, and the value of maintenance
- Develop and execute strategic account plans, prioritize portfolios, and manage accurate forecasts
- Own a revenue and bookings quota and participate in regular forecast reviews
- Keep CRM data accurate and up to date for opportunities, contacts, and accounts
- Coordinate internal resources for escalations, technical presentations, and contract processes
- Stay informed on industry trends and product developments to provide strategic input
- Represent Aptean at customer and marketing events
About you
You bring a strong foundation in sales and a passion for driving results. A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with at least 3+ years of relevant sales experience, ideally in the software industry. Experience within the discrete manufacturing industry is preferred.
You must also have:
- A solid understanding of the customer sales cycle and how to navigate it effectively
- Experience with software products, services, and solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders
- Strong sales, negotiation, and objection-handling skills
- A motivated, goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaborate across geographically diverse teams
- High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational, follow-up, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Sound decision-making ability and a professional presence
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with contracts and related processes (a plus)
